High street favourite Greggs was forced to close some stores this morning due to “issues accepting payments.” The bakery chain confirmed they are working on a fix, leaving customers hoping for a speedy resolution.

Disgruntled fans took to social media, reporting branches shuttered or facing significant disruption. This comes after a string of IT woes that have plagued retailers recently, with McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s and Tesco also encountering technical difficulties in the past week.

While Greggs shares remain unchanged on the day, sausage roll enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer for their morning fix.
