London stocks opened mostly higher on Tuesday, with the FTSE 100 up 0.4% and the FTSE 250 up 0.1% in a quiet morning session
Antofagasta was the weakest FTSE 100 performer, down 3.3% despite reporting a 53% rise in pretax profit to $3.16 billion for 2025.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation climbed 52% to a record $5.20 billion. The miner more than doubled its proposed final dividend to 48 US cents, lifting the total dividend to 64.6 cents.
Chief Executive Ivan Arriagada said copper’s “fundamental value continues to be demonstrated through sustained demand growth, driven by the global structural trends of energy security and electrification,” noting record prices last year.
Raspberry Pi led the FTSE 250 with an 11% gain, followed by SSP up 6.7% after UBS upgraded its recommendation to ‘buy’.
Plus500 was the worst performer, down 6.3%, after the trading platform’s three top executives sold 1.5 million existing shares at £44.78 each to Goldman Sachs International, worth £66.7 million. The trio, CEO David Zruia, CFO Elad Even-Chen and CMO Nir Zats, retains a combined 3.9% stake and has agreed not to sell further shares for a year.
Boohoo confirmed plans for an equity fundraise of approximately £35 million, with support from some of its largest institutional shareholders.
The online retailer is also in advanced discussions with its lending syndicate to provide “greater financial flexibility” for its turnaround plan.
Boohoo said the turnaround remains on track to deliver £50 million in adjusted EBITDA for the year ending 28 February, in line with previously upgraded guidance, and expects double-digit adjusted EBITDA growth for the year ending 2027.
Acuity RM rose 1.4% by the close, after opening 14% higher, following news it had secured a new three-year cybersecurity contract with the British government worth £178,497.
